Anime Boston 2009!

Wed May 27, 2009, 7:37 AM
Was Epic. Yes it had its ups and downs, but overall, it was awesome. I'm glad everyone had fun. I went with :iconpurp1ekiwi: , :iconminumoto: , and a bunch of others who I'm not friends with on DA lol.

So... I think the best way to explain it is the same way my friends have done it, with a list of what happened.

Wednesday
Wake up Time: 10:00 AM
- Worked on Inuyasha costume for :iconminumoto:. Still had to cut out sleeves of the undershirt and sew the sleeves and collar on, as well as hem it all. Red shirt still not hemmed, nor is the front flap. Ears still not attached to wig. Nor is my leg holster made.
- :iconminumoto: came over around 2, wasn't expecting her till four, so undershirt wasn't finished yet for her to try on so I could finish the rest of the costume
- finished costume around 1:30, woke :iconminumoto: up who was sleeping on the couch so we could sleep upstairs

Thursday
Wake Up Time: 8:00 AM
- Packed, because I'm not smart enough to do it before hand. Packed up everything on the wicked long list and headed out to :iconpurp1ekiwi:'s house.
- Got to :iconpurp1ekiwi:'s house
- headed into Boston to pick up our badges.
- Suddenly realized I forgot the Inuyasha ears for :iconminumoto:'s costume. slight panic attack.
- Got sent around the entire perimeter of the convention center only to end up back where we were -.-
- Waited in line about an hour, not bad at all, but got stupid paper badges of fail that had our names printed on them in large letters, so you know, we could have people stalking us.
- Couldn't decide what group of people to go have dinner with so instead we went to Wagamama inside the mall, where the waiters were having a competition to see which of them could fill out a quiz of anime trivia first. One really cute waiter asked for our help. We helped him win using my iPhone, and we threw paper shuriken at another table that was helping another waiter :)
- Headed back to :iconpurp1ekiwi:'s house where I found out I messed up :iconminumoto:'s costume and had to resew something by hand. then had :iconpurp1ekiwi: put henna on my back to make Riza Hawkeye's tattoo from the manga. Took four hours. After we finished all the final costume stuff we didn't do before, it was four in the morning.

Friday
Wake Up Time: 6:30
Costume: Suki from Avatar
- Decided about an hour before we left that I was going to wear my entire costume on the train, got ready, helped :iconminumoto: get ready and we headed out
- Ended up talking to this really sketchy guy on the train. he was drunk. Wouldn't leave us alone.
- Walked forever to get to the hotel
- Went into the bathroom in the lobby to put my make-up on, it was a single bathroom, instead of one with stalls, so I was eventually kicked out and did my make-up in the hallway. Started having a panic attack.
- Forgot my allergy and ANXIETY medicine.
- Panic Attack. Cried to my mom that I never wanted to go to another convention. Then started freaking out more because I thought my facepaint was going to come off.
- Calmed down so I stopped crying and headed to the convention
- Got a call from the guy who made :iconminumoto:'s Tetsusaiga telling us to come pick it up.
- Took me a while to get to where we were supposed to meet, as I kept getting stopped. I realized - stupid me - that I forgot my fans. Can't be Suki without the fans.
- Met up with :iconmudbound:
- Finally got there and got the epic sword, :iconmudbound: carried it around until we could find :iconminumoto: because she is a ninja and also didn't have her phone. Dummy.
- Got stopped every 3 seconds for pictures
- Finally found her and she had found some ears.
- Went to the dealers room and artist's alley, didn't buy anything. Spent forever trying to find :iconmudbound:'s friends.
- Went to dinner with :iconmudbound: and :iconminumoto:, went outside to eat. can you believe I didn't have any allergies? I guess its cause it was the city.
- Had a huge panic attack when :iconpurp1ekiwi: reminded me I had to go back to the hotel to get dressed for the formal ball, because I still hadn't decided what to do about that and the Travis Willingham panel. Called my mom, cried so much my make-up ran like crazy. finally decided to forgo the formal ball and only go to Travis' panel.
- Met up with FullmetalPipsqueak from the forums and she helped me calm down while I took off my make-up.
- Headed back to my hotel room to breathe and get changed. Henna tattoo came out great. Watched some Star Trek with :iconmudbound: then headed back to the convention
- Met up with two of our other friends, one being :iconyukaichiihavoc:
- got in line for Travis
- Got in and my heart started pounding. (Good god he's hot)
- Met up with :iconpyroluminescence:
- Was able to get up and ask a question. Showed him my tattoo which he thought was awesome everyone else did too and started cheering, then asked him to say the Episode 25 line correctly, which he did. He said he was pissed he didn't get the line right either, but thats what Mike McFarlane had him say.
- Got to hear the THAT WAS NOT A HUG story.
- Walked around and found :iconminumoto: and went back to the hotel room
- Took my allergy medicine and suddenly started getting allergy symptoms, wtf?

Saturday
Wake Up Time: 8:00
Costume: Riza Hawkeye from Fullmetal Alchemist
- Got to the convention center in time for the photoshoot
- a surprising amount of people recognized the tattoo from the manga :)
- Got a call from Graceria asking me to sign us in for the masquerade
- Went to sign us in for the Masquerade and realized I didn't know any of our information
- Tried to call Graceria to get the information
- Met up with the Al from our skit for the first time. :iconpinkhairedwonder:. She is awesome. We discussed our worries and stress about this skit, got all the information finally, but we were both still worried that we couldn't pull it together in time, as we hadn't even rehearsed once.
- We hung out for a little, met some MORE cool people, and said we should meet up with everyone at the food court at 3:30.
- Went to check out the artists alley and dealers room again with :iconmudbound:
- Went to the Inuyasha photoshoot (which kinda failed) and the Avatar photoshoot (epic Koh cosplay!) and was jealous I wasn't in Suki cosplay that d
- Quickly went to the food court where only :iconpinkhairedwonder: and our Winry showed up.
- We ran up to the masquerade and got in line to get set up without everyone in our group.
- It was seriously last minute before it started that everyone was there and we got the costumes from :iconpyroluminescence: (THANK YOU AGAIN!!! WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!)
- Practiced the skit once
- Went on stage
- We did awesome [link]
- Watched the AMV competition
- :iconpurp1ekiwi: won best editing
- Watched Hall Cosplay Contest
- We were called up and didn't realize it until someone else in our skit told us we were called and we ran up
- We got ice cream to celebrate and couldn't freakin' believe it. We were freaking out
- Finally headed back to the hotel, but was too excited, so I got changed and headed to the rave with :iconpurp1ekiwi:
- Went back to the hotel where I completely crashed and fell into a sound sleep

Sunday
Wake Up Time: 8:00
Costume: Suki from Avatar
- Packed, got dressed and got facepaint on all in time to be at the con early
- Went to Artists Alley
- Talked to the woman who runs New England Fan Experience, she complimented me on my costuming skills and suggested I join the Costumers Guild in MA. she's gonna send me info. So cool!
- PHOTOSHOOT!!!! SO MUCH FUN!
- Fought a Ty Lee - action shots were taken. epic.
- got defeated by Ozai's angels
- Sokkas posed.... sexy style?
- got stopped for pictures every five seconds
- Dealers room
- Left for the train journey home - I'm surprised I survived

I miss everyone from the con SO MUCH and I hope to keep in touch with you all. Next con will be Connecticon and then hopefully the New England Fan Experience. I should really pre-register and figure out hotel for Connecticon. bah.
